Taking your summer wardrobe into fall and winter – a guest post by @annelw

Transitioning from the easiness of your summer wardrobe to fall layers can be difficult. I personally am a huge fan of throwing on a maxi dress on a hot day with a few accessories and having an instant outfit. Summer flies by every year and it’s just too hard to pack away my summer staples at the beginning of fall. But, you don’t have to! Here are a few ways to wear some of your favorite summer pieces into cooler, fall weather:

1. White Jeans: The old myth of packing your white pants away after Labor Day is out the window. Pair your white jeans with a cozy sweater and riding boots or booties and you have a chic look through the fall AND winter.

2. Maxi Dresses and Skirts – One of the easiest ways to continue wearing your maxi dresses and skirts through the fall and winter is to throw a blazer or bomber jacket on top, and pair it with a scarf and booties. You can also put a sweater over your maxi or belted with a skirt.

3. The Little White Dress – The flirty sister of the classic Little Black Dress is the Little White Dress, and is a go-to outfit for all occasions throughout the warm months. But you don’t have to hide the LWD in the back of your closet once the weather turns chilly. Pair your LWD with tall boots, a blazer or bomber jacket and tights (if it’s cold enough) and you can wear it year-round!

Remember, dressing for fall is all about layering, so layer up and you can transition just about any piece from season to season!
